The Mission
Follow the Flow is a lived endurance journey starting from where Lap The Lake left off. I'll be sharing in real time through training, doubt, discomfort, and growth. Tracing how what happens upstream carries forward and how choosing to face it shapes the man I’m trying to become.
Share the story from Lake Wawasee to Lake Michigan by SUP
Let me introduce you to Follow the Flow
Jace Morgan is an professional ultra endurance athlete, coach, writer, and storyteller from northern Indiana who uses extreme physical challenges as a way to confront mental battles and share the unfiltered process of what it takes to make history. In 2025 Jace set his sights on a world-first, record-setting open-water swim completing the full shoreline swim of Lake Wawasee (17 Miles) in a single continuous effort. He is the author of the best selling book, Beyond the Buoy, and a lifelong competitive swimmer turned professional ultra-endurance athlete whose work centers on mental health, discipline, and personal responsibility. His background spans competitive swimming, triathalon and ultra-distance running, and multi-day human-powered endurance efforts. While his accomplishments have drawn attention, Jace’s focus has never been on showcasing results — but on sharing the process: the doubt, the fear, the discipline, and the uncomfortable work required when motivation disappears. When exploring what came next after Lap the Lake, the question wasn’t what record to chase next. It was what story needs to be told. That answer became Follow the Flow.
What Is Follow the Flow?
Follow the Flow is a personal endurance journey physically connecting Lake Wawasee to Lake Michigan, tracing the natural downstream path of the watershed while documenting the mental, emotional, and physical reality of the effort.
It explores how what happens upstream always carries forward downstream — in water, in life, and in who we become.
This journey is not polished.
It is shared honestly, in real time, as it unfolds.
CURRENT STATUS — TRAINING & PREPARATION
Jace is currently deep in structured endurance training for Follow the Flow, balancing long aerobic efforts, strength work, recovery, and mental conditioning.
Training is focused on:
-
Long-duration endurance sessions
-
Sustainable pacing and efficiency
-
Mental resilience under fatigue
-
Daily discipline over motivation
Setbacks, adaptations, and breakthroughs are all part of the process — and they are shared openly.

WHY THIS MATTERS
What we ignore upstream doesn’t disappear.
It shows up later — in our bodies, our minds, our relationships, and our lives.
Follow the Flow exists to show that:
-
Small choices compound
-
Consistency beats intensity
-
Discomfort builds clarity
-
And everyone is capable of more than they believe
TRACKING THE JOURNEY
The journey will be documented and shared through:
-
Written stories and reflections
-
Training logs and shared endurance sessions
-
Video updates and field notes
-
Conversations around mental health, resilience, and identity
This allows others to follow along, reflect, and feel part of the journey from start to finish.
COMMUNITY-SPONSORED JOURNEY
Follow the Flow is a community-supported endurance journey it is powered by people who believe in honesty, effort, and showing up when things are hard. Community support helps cover training logistics and equipment, safety and tracking tools, and the ability to share the journey openly and accessibly. Most importantly, it turns this into something bigger than one person. This is not about donations for a finish line. It’s about backing the process, the message, and the willingness to try. I would love your support, if you are interested in supporting the journey please check out the info below to donate or personally sponsor an item I need for the expedition.
Join the crew and support the expedition
Follow the Flow is built the same way Lap the Lake was built — through community, belief, and people choosing to stand behind something meaningful. That journey showed me how powerful it is when others show up, not to watch, but to be part of it. This expedition carries that same spirit forward. Crew members can support the journey by donating anywhere from $5 to $500, sponsoring a specific piece of required gear, or purchasing Follow the Flow merchandise. Every contribution helps cover essential safety, tracking, and documentation equipment needed to move forward safely and share the journey honestly. No amount is small. Every dollar represents someone choosing to believe, and that belief adds up.
Every supporter becomes part of the crew in a very real way. Each name will be written directly on my SUP board in Sharpie and carried with me for every mile of the paddle. Your name will also appear on the crew banner and flag flown during the journey, be included in ongoing storytelling and marketing, and receive a handwritten thank-you note from me. When the days get long and the water gets heavy, those names aren’t symbolic — they’re fuel. A reminder that none of this is done alone.
If you’d like to support the mission, click below to donate, sponsor an item, or grab merch and join the crew. Your name will travel the water with me, just like it did during Lap the Lake — and together, we’ll keep moving forward.
Donate to Support The Expedition
When the weight of the journey gets heavy your support will be my fuel to continue moving forward. Below is a rough outline of what some of my gear will cost during the expediton. Every single dollar supports the overall mission and no donation is to small. It truly means the world to me and I am grateful to have you join my crew!
Love you all - Jace
