Follow the Flow, my next history making expedition is a community-supported endurance journey it is powered by people who believe in honesty, effort, and showing up when things are hard. Community support helps cover training logistics and equipment, safety and tracking tools, and the ability to share the journey openly and accessibly. Most importantly, it turns this into something bigger than one person. This is not about donations for a finish line. It’s about backing the process, the message, and the willingness to try. Join the crew and support the expedition
Follow the Flow is built the same way Lap the Lake was built — through community, belief, and people choosing to stand behind something meaningful. That journey showed me how powerful it is when others show up, not to watch, but to be part of it. This expedition carries that same spirit forward. Crew members can support the journey by donating anywhere from $5 to $500, sponsoring a specific piece of required gear, or purchasing Follow the Flow merchandise. Every contribution helps cover essential safety, tracking, and documentation equipment needed to move forward safely and share the journey honestly. Every dollar represents someone choosing to believe, and that belief adds up.
Every supporter becomes part of the crew in a very real way. Each name will be written directly on my SUP board in Sharpie and carried with me for every mile of the paddle. Your name will also appear on the crew banner and flag flown during the journey, be included in ongoing storytelling and marketing, and receive a handwritten thank-you note from me. When the days get long and the water gets heavy, those names aren’t symbolic — they’re fuel. A reminder that none of this is done alone.

From Lake Wawasee to Lake Michigan on a Stand Up Paddle Board
An expedition of this scale is not just a paddle. It’s a moving system that has to function safely, efficiently, and continuously for nearly two full days without stopping. Every mile compounds fatigue, exposure, and decision-making, which means the margin for error is small and preparation matters.
To attempt something like this, every piece of gear serves a purpose. Safety equipment keeps me visible and protected through changing conditions. Navigation and tracking tools allow the crew and public to follow along in real time. Fuel, hydration systems, and thermal management are critical to staying functional as exhaustion and cold set in. Redundancy isn’t a luxury on a mission like this, it’s a requirement.
