Buttermilk Point → Fish Hatchery → Griffiths Marina → Natti Crow Beach → Enchanted Hills

As I powered around the east side of Lake Wawasee my liquid nutrition burned my throat — a custom blend of BPN G1M Sport mix packed more sodium than you could imagine. But It kept the machine moving forward.

Logan guided me through weeds, pointing me clear of the thickest mats. Griffiths Marina loomed ahead, a checkpoint for my sanity. This area of the lake was mucky, shallow, and packed with weeds. But we made it through and I as I came around Morrison Island I could see the Natti Crow and Enchanted Hills section. The docks came alive again. Families waved, horns blared, kids shouted encouragement.

But little did I know the cold was coming. By mile seven, rhythm was gone. My hands

clawed instead of pulling. My feet were numb. Shivers rattled through my chest, and silence pressed in. I made my way, slowly, around black point and into the mouth of Johnson's Bay. This is were things all started falling apart starting with my mental health. Everything hurt and the cold was almost enough to stop me. Read more about this in the next blog!

Takeaway: Survival isn’t about speed or fuel — it’s about refusing to stop when the cold and dark thoughts creep in.

Thanks for reading!
